Article Défini - Definite Article
Definite article is the word which is used before the noun to define it as specific.
There are 4 definite articles.
They are: Le, La, L’, Les.[ THE ]
Le is used for masculine nouns.
Le crayon, Le livre, Le stylo…
Le cahier est manquant.
(The notebook is missing.)
La is used for feminine nouns.
La plume, La craie, La femme…
La porte est ouverte.
(The door is open)
L’ is used for the nouns that begins with a vowel.
L’histoire, L’église, L’autobus…
L’église est près de chez moi.
(The church is near from my home.)
Les is used for plural nouns.
Les pommes, Les tableaux, Les chiens…
Les fruits sont frais.
(The fruits are fresh.)

Indefinite article is the word which is used before the noun to define it as non-specific.
There are 3 indefinite articles:
They are un, une, des. [A,AN]
Un is used for masculine nouns.
un portable, un t-shirt, un tableau…
Je veux un ordinateur.
(I want a computer.)
Une is used for feminine nouns.
une robe, une porte, une jupe…
J’ai acheté une voiture.
(I bought a car.)
Des is used for plural nouns.
des legumes, des sacs, des chemises…
Il y a des livres dans mon sac.
( There are books in my bag.)
