Imparfait - Imperfect

The past continuous is a form of the verb that shows than an action is taking place in the past without specifying it’s temporal limits.

FORMATION:

For all the verbs except (être) removing the “ons” ending from the nous form of the present tense. And add the endings.

(They were hearing)
Je prenais mon bain quand il m’a appelé. - (I was taking a bath when he called me.)
Tu allais écrire un livre. - (You were going to write a book.)
Il était en France pendant Covid-19. - (He was in France during Covid-19)
Elle mangeait un peu parcequ’elle était malade. - (She was eating little because she was sick.)
Ils ont commencé à nous dire que nous mentions. - (They started to tell us that we were lying,)
Il était fâché que vous partiez? - (He was upset that you were leaving?)
Ils changeaient leurs vies. - (They were changing their lives.)
Elles disaient beaucoup d’autres chôses contre lui. - (They were saying many other things against him.)
