Negation is nothing but the turning the affirmative sentences into it’s opposite denial.

FORMATION:

Non + Subject + Ne + Verb + Pas

Types:

1. Négative : (ne…pas) - not

Ex: Je suis actrice => Non, Je ne suis pas actrice.

(I am an actress => No, I am not an actress)

2. Quel que chose : (ne…rien) - nothing

Ex: Vous mangez quel que chose? => Non, Je ne mange rien.

(You eat something? => No, I eat nothing)

3. Quel qu’un : (ne…personne) - no one / any one

Ex: Elle parle à quel qu’un: => Non, elle ne parle à personne.

(She is talking to someone => No, she doesn’t talk to anyone)

4. Toujours : (ne jamais) - never

Souvent

Ex: Elle est toujours méchante => Non, elle n’est jamais méchante.

(She is always naughty => No, she is never naughty)

Il ment souvent => Non, il ne ment jamais.

(He often lies => No, he never lies)

5. Déja : (ne…pas encore)- not yet

Ex: Je suis déja partie => Non, je ne suis pas encore partie.

(I am already left => No, I haven’t left yet)

6. Encore : (ne…plus) - no more/any more

Ex: Tu fume encore? => Non, je ne fume plus.

(You are still smoking? => No, I don’t smoke anymore)
