Twenty

Twenty remains invariable when you add some number to it (vingt-six).
If you multiply it, it becomes plural (quatre-vingts).
When you add some more number to it, it becomes again singular (quatre-vingt-six)

Hundred

It would be the same thing for hundred. One hundred is singular (Cent). One hundred and three is still singular (Cent trois). But three hundred is multiplied, and it becomes plural (trois cents). If you add some more number, it goes back to singular (trois cent cinq).

Thousand

Thousand is always invariable and remains in singular in all circumstances (mille, cent mille, cent mille trois)

But there is an exception : Mille will take an < s > when it is used as a unit of measurement of distance in the marine and aerial world.

Example :
Le navire a fait vingt milles depuis son départ.
L’avion vole avec trois milles d’avance

Millier, million et milliard are nouns and not adjectives, so they are not invariable. We will write trois milliers, quatre millions et deux milliards.

So we write 1,6 million and 2 millions.
