Hello! Welcome to Francolang. In this episode we are going to take you through the prepositions - what we call prépositions in French.

Prepositions are short words (on, in, to,from) that usually stand in front of nouns (sometimes also in front of gerund verbs).

Prepositions play a key role in the basic sentence formation.

Lets start :

1.ON - SUR

On the table – sur la table

The book is on the table

Le livre est sur la table

2. IN - DANS

In the house - Dans la maison

The dog is in the house

Le chien est dans la maison

3. WITH - AVEC

With my brother – avec mon frère

I play with my brother

Je joue avec mon frère

4. WITHOUT - SANS

Without my bag – sans mon sac

I go to the market without my bag

Je vais au marché sans mon sac
